Why don’t we have a modern equivalent to Royal Geographic Society of the 19th-20th centuries? Do people just not care about exploration anymore?

Jungles haven’t gotten any less cool in the last 100 years, and they’re still imposing. But now we have all kinds of cool high-tech tools to chart them! Seriously. I want to read about modern jungle expeditions.
