Dudes. Ok.

So, I may have, in the past, said that twitter is the unnecessary extrapolation of the information overload services on the internet (or something cleaner and better sounding than that). And yes, it is.

BUT: I no longer consider that a bad thing. You should get a twitter account and update it frequently. It’s a fun distraction like antibox.

Yeah…I don’t get it. I went to the website, poked around, but I just don’t understand the appeal. At least facebook has pictures. :)

You really won’t understand the appeal until your start using it. Or, at least, start reading what your friends are saying. There are all sorts of wit and useful information happening on twitter.

No, I’ve used it on and off for a while and I still am annoyed by it.

I just don’t feel compelled to spend precious moments of my day explaining what I’m doing from moment to moment.

Even worse is that I could see people meta-twittering with stuff like “Art Allen is posting stuff on Facebook.”

Blech.

Just gotta chime in here and say that I’ve met more people, professionally, through Twitter than through any other networking tool.

For example: When I was in KY, members of my twitter network put me in touch with someone in Louisville who is also in the tech/web industry. (Unfortunately I was flying out through Lexington so we couldn’t meet up, but I now keep up with him on Twitter.)

This kind of thing is really, really cool.

I still think that the annoying factor outweighs the cool factor.

I haven’t found it to be annoying at all. Merely interesting and relevant. :)

First of all: What I’m up to is not interesting or relevant to you? Thanks a lot.

Second: This is not twitter’s fault, but your own. If you don’t find your twitter stream interesting or relevant, then go follow people who will be interesting or relevant to you. They’re out there

From my stream (all relevant and/or interesting to me):

I’m with Cameron on this. I think it’d just annoy me. Being updated on a bunch of people’s every moment doesn’t really grab me.

I can also count the number of people I know using it on one hand. So peer pressure won’t work yet. :)
